William's Obituary
William A. Clardy, 74, of St. Joseph, died Monday, December 24, 2001 at Lakeland Hospital, St.
Joseph. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral
Home, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 4-7 PM
Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor?s favorite charity.
Mr. Clardy was born May 5, 1927 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Howard & Josephine (Hanson) Clardy.
He served his country in the United States Coast Guard. On February 17, 1951 he married the former
Elsie Kurbis in Benton Harbor. Bill retired in 1991 after 39 years with National Cash Register. He
was an avid golfer and a member of the Lakeshore Lions Club.
Mr. Clardy is survived by his wife Elsie; a sister-Lucille Wade of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two
nephews-Ronald (Sherry) Clardy of Wetumpka, Alabama, and Randy (Anita) Wade of Little Rock,
Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister & a brother.
