Roger's Obituary

Roger French Prentiss Spencer, 61, died Sunday, November 25, 2001 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Friends may call on Monday December 3, 2001 from 5-7 PM . Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4. Both services will be held at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, followed by a military burial at Watervliet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes, or Berrien County Cancer Service. Roger was born in Chicago, Illinois, April 18, 1940 and lived in Watervliet most of his life. Upon Graduation from Watevliet High School he served in the United States Marine Corp. During his lifetime he worked for the Benton Harbor Police Department, The Benton Township Police Department, and Comstock Foods. He was a member of the following organizations; the Fraternal Order of Police #100, The Elks Lodge #541, The Moose Lodge #1570, The American Legion #0105, Harley Davidson, The Masonic Lodge #162, National Rifle Association, and his most beloved membership, ?The Five Brothers?. All his family and friends will dearly miss Roger. Roger is survived by two daughters; Laura L. Spencer of St. Joseph, and Tracey (Tom) Starks of St. Joseph, his mother Irene Spencer of Watervliet, his sister Donna (Bob) Schuur of Dowagiac, his brother DeWayne (Denise) Spencer of Clarksville, and three grandchildren; Olivia K.
