Ida A. Sempert

Ida Sempert, 92, formerly of Stevensville died Friday, December 28, 2001 at Orchard Grove Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 Monday at St. Pails Lutheran Church Stevensville, where she was a member. Visitation will be from 2:00 ? 5:00PM Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will be at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul?s Lutheran Church or Michigan Lutheran High School. Ida was born January 23, 1909 to Ludwig and Anna (Rexin) Kasischke in St. Joseph. She was a bookkeeper at Baker ? Vawter. On July 13, 1929 she married John Strunk at Trinity Lutheran Church, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1954. On September 28, 1957 she married Albert Sempert who preceded her in death on July 1, 1985. During her life she was an active member of the Lutheran Women?s Missionary Society and a long time Sunday school teacher. She sang in four different choirs for a total of 50 years and was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Ladies Aid Society. Survivors are four daughters, Rosalie (Harold) Hosbach of Saginaw; Eleanor Strunk of Kalamazoo; Esther (Robert) Diez of West Allis, Wisconsin; and Louise (Frank) Prillwitz of Eau Claire; One son, John (Jayn) Strunk of Benton Harbor, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are 11 brothers and sisters and one great-granddaughter.
