Walter's Obituary
Walter’s life began on October 24, 1930 in South Bend, the son of Walter J. and Clementine (Staszewski) Urbanski, Sr. He served his country in the United States Army serving in Europe. Walter was united in marriage to the former Eldora L. Fester on November 1, 1958 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dowagiac. Walter was the owner of Urbanski’s Meats in rural Dowagiac. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, a life member of the VFW Post #1855 in Dowagiac and the Dowagiac Moose Lodge. Walter served on the Indian Lake Fire Department for 35 years. His loving family includes a brother Henry (Virginia) Werus of South Bend, and several nieces and nephews. Walter passed away on Thursday March 15, 2012 at Cass County Medical Care. He is preceded in death by his wife Eldora, sister Vivian Stillwell and brother Richard Urbanski. His family will gather with friends on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church led by Pastor Jeffery Weber. Walter will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
