Jonne E Behnke

Jonne’s life began on October 3, 1952 in Dowagiac, the daughter of William and Janice (Bakeman) Behnke. She was a graduate of Dowagiac Union High School and Michigan State University. Jonne was employed as a veterinary tech for Dowagiac Animal Hospital. She was a member of the Michigan State Alumni Association and served as the president of the Cable Lake Association. Jonne enjoyed working with flowers and recently started painting. She loved to travel with her family and especially loved her dog Lucy and the many furry friends before her. Jonne’s loving family includes her mother Janice Behnke of Dowagiac, sister Lisa (Joe) Bradley of Grand Rapids, brothers Roger ( Missy) Behnke of Portage, and Richard (Lorrie) Behnke of Dowagiac, nieces and nephews Paige, Benjamin, Amy, and Nicholas Behnke, Meredith (Jacob) Vasquez, and Lauren (Kevin) Charbonneau, great niece and great nephew Calvin Diamond and Piper McLeod. Jonne passed away on Monday February 27, 2012 at her home. She is preceded in death by her father William Behnke and her brother Craig Behnke. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 3-5 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
