William's Obituary

Bill’s life began on July 26, 1939 in Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan; the son of P.B. and Evelyn G. (Albertson) Morford. He was a 1957 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School. Bill was united in marriage to the former Velma Friske on June 25, 1960 in Dowagiac. He had been employed by Rudy Manufacturing and later by Pemco in Bridgman, where he was a die cast supervisor. Bill is a member of the Dowagiac First United Methodist Church, the Old Rugged Cross Church Foundation where he worked as a fundraiser and supporter. He was an accomplished carpenter building his own home from 1958-1960. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson and was an avid fisherman. Bill also enjoyed target shooting with family. His loving family includes his wife Velma of Dowagiac, daughter Tammy (Patrick) Robbins of Dowagiac, grandchildren Kyle and Haley Robbins and nieces and nephews. Bill passed away at his home on Saturday February 11, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Evelyn Nadeau. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dowagiac First United Methodist Church led by Pastor John Kasper. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
