Lucile Niccum

Lucile M. Conrad Niccum was born August 30, 1917, daughter of the late S.P. and Bertha Conrad in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1936.Lucile married Edward Niccum on April 10th, 1937 and they enjoyed 70 years of wedded bliss. She worked at V.M. Corporation for 23 years as a production foreman, and to this day her fellow employees remember her with cards and calls.Lucile and Ed lived permanently in Sister Lakes since 1957, where she had many friends and neighbors. Everyone was Lucile’s friend. Her door was always open to them, especially the youngsters, whom she loved. She gave words of wisdom, and could always make everyone laugh at her stories. She and Ed were noted for taking trips at the “drop of the hat.” They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in April 2007. Lucile passed away on December 29, 2011 at her home.She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2007 and an only son, Richard in 1984.Lucile was a member of First Christian Church in DowagiacIn lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice At Home or the church of the donor’s choice.Grave side services will be held Saturday December 31st 2011 at 11:00 A.M, at Keeler Cemetery on County Rd.687.
