Warren's Obituary
Warren’s life began on May 8, 1915 in Chicago, the son of Otto and Martha (Jones) Walshleger. He served his country in the United States Army. Warren was united in marriage to the former Lillian Novotny for 47 years until she preceded him in death and was again married to the former Wilma Fisher-Gaideski on July 7, 1990 in Dowagiac. Warren retired as a tool and die design engineer for General Motors and had held positions at Rudy Manufacturing, James Heddon and Sons, Kaiser-Fraser, and C J Kahn. He was a member of the Dowagiac Elks, the Dowagiac Lions, the Pogoda Club, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Wilma Walshleger of Dowagiac, his children Cheryl (Tom) Topash of Berrien Center and Ordeana (Max) Sala of Dowagiac, Wilma’s children Joseph and Terry Gaideski and Bonnie Jacobs, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister Doris Oxford of St. Augustine, FL, and brother Robert Walshleger of Shelby, NC. Warren passed away at West Wood of Niles on November 1, 2011. He is preceded in death by a son Mark Walshleger, sister Margaret Walshleger, and brothers Junior, Roger and Edward Walshleger. His family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. led by Father Kevin Covert and Pastor Jen Lowe. He will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Hospice at Home or the Dowagiac Lion’s Club for sight projects.
