Betty Hydorn

Betty's Obituary

Betty’s life began on April 24, 1918 in Brockway, Montana, the daughter of Frederick and Margaret (Hohensee) Heide. She was united in marriage to Charles F. Hydorn who preceded her in death. Betty was employed by Goerlich’s Manufacturing for 17 years and later by Simplicity Pattern Company. She loved to express herself through a variety of arts. Betty was a painter and she loved to knit. Betty owned one of the first knitting machines in the area and taught several people how to operate those devices. She was also very active with the Area Agency on Aging. Her loving family includes her son Gerald (Betty) Hydorn of White Pigeon and daughter Joanne Marquardt of Benton Harbor, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her brother Robert Heide of South Bend. Betty passed away on Friday October 28, 2011 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two daughters Bonnie Lenardson and Mary Lee. Her family will gather with friends on Friday November 4 at 10 a.m. for a memorial service at Yazel & Clark Chapel led by Father Dan Sneid. She will be laid to rest in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
