Nancy Faye Corwin

Nancy Faye Corwin, 78, of Dowagiac passed away Saturday October 15, 2011 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph. Nancy was born on October 16, 1932 in Dowagiac, to the late Oral and Ruth (Byers) Barnes. She was a 1950 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School. On September 20, 1951 she married Louis S. Corwin, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2011. Nancy was a member of the Van Buren Region Genealogy Society. She was an avid genealogist for 30 years and published several cemetery record books. She is survived by her children Bruce (Sandy) Corwin of Decatur, Dean (Dolly) Corwin, Judy (James) Sweet, Dale Corwin, Scott (Melissa) Corwin, all of Dowagiac, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, Nancy is also preceded in death by a son Gary Corwin, daughter in law Linda Corwin, sister Dorothy Wallace and brother Lester Barnes. Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. She will be laid to rest in Hamilton Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the donor’s choice.
