Richard M Hyatt

Richard's life began on August 1, 1935 in Dowagiac, the son of Milton J. and Mamie G. Marshall. He was united in marriage to Linda Schuur, who precedes him in death, on May 1, 1964 and to Mary Ellen Park, who also precedes him in death, on March 26, 1984. Richard was employed as a maintenance man at Lee Memorial Hospital. In retirement, he enjoyed hauling trailers for the Hi Line Company in Elkhart. Richard was also a registered boiler engineer. His loving family includes his children Jerry ( Becky Ahmad) Hyatt, “T” (Tracy) Hyatt, Larry (Reeni) Hyatt, and Michael (Sarah) Hyatt, all of Dowagiac, and Dixie Long of Rockford, IL., grandchildren Zachary, Mollie, and Anthony Hyatt, Jessica Whitmore and Cameron Ahmad, sister LaVerne Ruff of Holland and brothers Lester Hyatt of Dowagiac and Donald Hyatt of Batesville, AR. Richard passed away on Tuesday November 9, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He is preceded in death by a son Richard M Hyatt. His family will gather with friends on Friday from 1-3 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. led by Pastor Brian DeLong of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church. Richard will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Michael Hyatt.
