Nancy Hansell Thielmann

Nancy's life began on February 20, 1936 in Cassopolis, the daughter of Dodie and Bernice (Pierce) Hansell. She was a graduate of Cassopolis Public Schools. Nancy was united in marriage to David Thielmann on March 26, 1981 in Dowagiac. She worked as a printing press operator for Simplicity Pattern Company. Nancy was a member of the Decatur VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to paint and do ceramics and while she was in the nursing home she made all sorts of beaded jewelry for her fellow residents. Nancy's loving family includes her sons Jeffrey Fester of Dowagiac, John Fester of Dowagiac and daughter Billi Jo (David) Piel of Chula Vista, CA, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters Sharon Hansell of Niles, and Candy (Ted) Cooper of Dowagiac and several nieces and nephews. Nancy passed away on Saturday October 2, 2010 at Bronson Nursing and Rehab Center in Lawton. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2004. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Paul Doellinger of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cassopolis. She will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery, Decatur following the service. Memorial contributions in Nancy's name may be directed t the American Asthmatic Association.
