Ronald Timmons

Niles – Ronald M. Timmons, 67 of Niles died September 17, 2010. Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on December 24, 1942, the son of Dale and Bernice (Cook) Timmons, Ron grew up in Sister Lakes, Michigan and graduated from Dowagiac Central High School in 1961. He earned a B.S. Degree in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University. Ron married the former Lynn (Stough) Timmons in Dowagiac, Michigan in 1966. They have one son, Russell Dale Timmons of Buchanan. Ron is also survived by his beloved grandson, Orion Dale Timmons, of Niles, and sister Connee (Robert) Canfield, of Keeler, Michigan. Other survivors include: nieces and nephews, Cathaleen (Gerado Morales) Canfield, Cheri Lynn Canfield, Jennifer (Bradley) Whitford, Jeffery Schultz, Kathy Fellers, Susan Arterburn, David Buddy Oaklund, Denise, (Doug) Satterfield, Mona (Karl) Kelley, Elizabeth (Gerald) Reed and Dana Oaklund. Ron was preceded in death by siblings Dale Timmons Junior, Doneita, Mary Elizabeth, John Martin, Thomas, Neil, Donna Jean Schultz and nephew Robert Schultz. Ron worked at both Blue Fin Marina and Mid-Way Marina, growing up at Magician Lake. He had a life long love of boating. Ron worked in Materials Management for several companies during his career. He held positions at National Standard (Buchanan Division), Josam of Michigan City, National Steel and Delta Machining.Ron held duel membership in Masonic Lodges in Berrien Springs and Dowagiac, Michigan and served as Worshipful Master in both Lodges. A memorial service will be held May 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel . Arrangements are being made through Yazel & Clark in Dowagiac.
