Janice's Obituary
Janice's life began on November 28, 1942 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Elwood and Aretta (Parritt) Dougan. She united in marriage to Carl D. Shelby on January 14, 1961 in Sodus, MI. Janice was a homemaker. She was a member of the Safe Harbor Church in Sodus and the Dowagiac TOPS. Her loving family includes her husband of 49 years Carl Shelby of Dowagiac, sons Carl (Sherry) Shelby, Jr. of Decatur and Jeffery (Roxanne) Shelby of Texas, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Janice passed away on Saturday August 28, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Donald Shelby in 2008, and a brother Everett Dougan. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hamilton Cemetery in Decatur led by Pastor Don Parsons of Safe Harbor Church.
