Martha's Obituary

Martha passed away on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dowagiac on August 15, 1929, the daughter of Meryl and Anna (Smith) Rowe. She is survived by four children William (Jean Ann) Donoho, Cathy (Charles) Curtis, Jo Lynn ( Chester) Swisher, and Deborah ( Charles) Preis, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, her special friend Richard Urbanski ,one sister Catherine Hart and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Donoho in 1987 and one son Steven Donoho in 1997. She retired from Contech where she was a machine operator for 27 years. She also operated the Donoho Grocery at Indian Lake for many years. She was noted for taking food to work, like her macaroni and cheese and apple pie for everyone to share. She was happiest when she was crocheting or knitting an afghan to give to friends like her heart doctor, a waitress, women in service and family. She loved the water and enjoyed her lakefront home on Indian Lake for 50 years. Her family wishes to thank her doctor Dr. Douglas Huggett. She will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dowagiac Moose Lodge with a gathering of friends and family to follow the service at the Moose.
