Garland's Obituary

Bud's life began on August 10, 1921 in Pokagon Township, the son of Clem and Henrietta (Stutsman) Sink. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Bud was united in marriage to Oleva Wilson on August 9, 1980 in Niles and was previously married to Janet Sink Meachum. He was a lifetime farmer as well as working as a truck driver, heavy machine operator for Cass County and most recently as a security guard at Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. Bud was a member of the Buchanan Moose Lodge #449 and Calvary Bible Church in Dowagiac. His loving family includes three daughters Barbara Phillips of Dowagiac, Bonnie (Jim) Justus of Dowagiac and Teresa (Joe) Yakim of Dowagiac and one son Jerry (Sue) Sink of Niles, 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and one sister Joy Deal of Plainwell, MI. Bud passed away on Monday July 26th at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He is preceded in death by his wife Oleva in 1995, one son Lloyd Sink in 2007 and a sister Garnett Watson. His family will receive friends on Thursday July 29th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Robert Vickroy of the Calvary Bible Church. He will be laid to rest in Sumnerville Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
