Charles Alvah Squires

Chuck's life began on October 10, 1970 in Niles, the son of Charles and Mary (Lindsley) Squires, Sr. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School Class of 1991. Chuck spent the majority of his life being a Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Fighter where he was awarded “Firemen of the year” in 2001 and 2008. He enjoyed fishing, playing darts, and pool with his friends. Chuck worked for many years in the R.V. industries. His loving family includes his father Charles Squires, Sr. of Dowagiac, a special friend Krissy Mosier of Dowagiac, his sister Kathleen Jo Perkins of Haleyville, AL; his nieces and nephews Michael Grice, Joseph Perkins, April Blue, Rialynn Michaels, Tabatha Combs, Kyle Combs, his great nieces and nephews Abby, Zoe, Cole and Gavin. Chuck passed away on April 9, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Squires, his sisters Millie Squires and Sandra Squires. His family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 4- 8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 pm led by Pastor Russell Haines. Chuck will be laid to rest at South Wayne Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to his father Charles Squires.
