Lee's Obituary

Lee's life began on May 23, 1960 in South Bend, the son of Willie and Margaret (Marshall) Porter. He attended Dowagiac Union High School and was employed by Du-Wel Industries in Dowagiac. Lee loved to play horseshoes, fish, basket ball and was very good with the barbeque. He loved to watch old western movies. He was united in marriage to the former Annie E. Fields on October 29, 1989 in Cassopolis. His loving family includes his wife Annie Porter of Dowagiac, children Katrri Edwards of Dowagiac, Leetarrus Edwards of South Bend, Kasharma Hogan of South Bend, Lee Porter, Jr. of Dowagiac, grandchildren Shaleo Edwards, Amarion Edwards, Tylynn Brookins, Jordan Edwards, Jikara Hogan, Jeakeila Hogan, Markasha Baker and Miasia Porter, one sister Willamae Lee of Benton Harbor and a host of relatives and friends. Lee passed away on Saturday March 6, 2010 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. He is preceded in death by his parents. His family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Friday at Second Baptist Church, Dowagiac where his home going service will begin at 2 p.m. led by Pastor Tonnie Blackamore. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the family in care of Annie Porter. Yazel & Clark Chapel is serving the family.
