Ronald Lee Ashley

Ronald's life began on July 25, 1925 in South Bend, the son of Orville H. and Ruth I. (Otstot) Ashley. He was a graduate of Niles High School in 1943. Ronald served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Shaner in 1946. He was a self employed tool and die designer. Ronald had been a 4-H leader and attended the Apostolic Lighthouse Church. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ronald's loving family includes his children Bruce (Elaine) Ashley of Florida, Carl (Chris) Ashley of Branch, MI, Ross (Debra) Ashley of Dowagiac and Rhonda (John) Weiser of Niles, 12 grandchildren, brothers Tom Ashley of Dowagiac and Hank ( Janet) Ashley of North Fort Myers, FL and several nieces and nephews. Ronald passed away on Friday December 18, 2009 at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Ashley in 1976. His family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Gerald Bushnell of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church.
