Eric's Obituary
Eric's life began on February 25, 1919 in Chicago, IL. He was united in marriage to the former Shirley Jenson Savage on November 26, 1966 in Harvey, IL. Eric was a firefighter with the Harvey Fire Department, retiring as the Senior Captain after 20 years. He was also a talented brick mason, well known in Sister Lakes for his beautiful fireplaces. Eric was an avid golfer and Cub's fan. He held membership in the Keeler United Methodist Church, and formerly in the Sister Lakes Lions and Harvey Optimist Club. His loving family includes his wife of 43 years Shirley Fredman of Sister Lakes, his children Bonnie Donaldson of Redmond, WA, Lorraine Henshaw of Crown Point, IN, Diane ( Joe Kochis) Schumacher of Schererville, IN and Raymond (Lori) Fleming of Sister Lakes, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Eric passed away at his home on Saturday December 12, 2009. He is preceded in death by two grandchildren Steven Fleming and Caroline Schumacher. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday December 15th from 12 to 1 p.m. (Michigan Time) at Yazel & Clark Chapel (405 Center Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047) where his memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Julie Greyerbiehl of the Keeler United Methodist Church.
