Joan's Obituary
Joan’s life began on March 29, 1949 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Charles S. and Pearl A. (Hemmenger) Tidey. She is 1974 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School and worked for several years at the Dowagiac Nursing Home as a cook. Joan enjoyed doing crafts and gardening. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, nieces and nephews. Her loving family includes her daughter Aleasha Tidey of Dowagiac, granddaughter Amiah Tidey of Dowagiac, sisters Dora Huston of Dowagiac, Doris Dale of Allegan, Mary (Virgil) Weaver of Bridgman, and Pat Goings of Gobles, brothers Chuck “Charles” (Chris) Tidey of Buchanan, David (Denise) Hankins of Hartford, Jay (Linda) Tidey of Texas and Ray Tidey of Dowagiac, and several nieces and nephews. Joan passed away at her home on Friday June 5, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents. Her family will gather with friends at 2:30 on Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home is serving the family.
