William A. Maier

William’s life began on August 1, 1953 in Dowagiac, the son of William T. and Brenda A. (Watson) Maier. He was a graduate of Dowagiac Schools and earned an associates degree at Southwestern Michigan College. William worked for a time at Lyons Industries, and spent most of his life working for General Telephone Company. He loved music, collecting antiques and spending time with his friends. His loving family includes his mother Brenda A. Maier of Dowagiac, sisters Joan (Kim) Mulder of Grand Rapids, and Donna (Kurt) Groepler of Billings, MT, nieces and nephew Katie Kerwald of Billing, MT, Lauren Mulder and Spencer Mulder, both of Grand Rapids, great nephews Isaac and Caleb Kerwald, former wife Becky Maier of Cassopolis, aunt Marion Watson of England, and special friend Lois Scott of Dowagiac. William passed away on Friday May 29th at his home. He is preceded in death in by his father. His family will gather with friends at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. when Father Leo Taubitz will lead a scripture service. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Cass County Medical Care Center Activity Fund.
