Frances Anderson

Frances life began on October 5, 1915 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the daughter of John Henry Wesley and Dorothy (Erby) Carr. She was united in marriage twice in her life, first to Richard Russell who passed away in 1957 and again to Reverend James Anderson who passed away in 1990. Frances loved to cook and have her family surrounding her. Her loving family includes her children Katherine Richardson of Mississippi, Richard Russell of Dowagiac, Bobbie Russell of Dowagiac, Frances Archer of Dowagiac, Ruth Ann (Arthur) Jackson of Dowagiac and Dorothy Winters of Mississippi, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frances passed away at her home as a result of a house fire on May 18th, 2008. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, children Ruthie Turner, Robert Earl Russell, Dora Lee Henderson, Theo Broomfield and eleven siblings. Her family will receive friends from noon until 2p.m. on Friday at Second Baptist Church in Dowagiac where her home going service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday led by Reverend Corey Brown of Community Baptist Church and officiated by Reverend Tyrone Pace of Second Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the family in care of Michelle Jackson.
