Wilma's Obituary
Wilma’s life began on February 17, 1910 in Dowagiac, the son of William and Mary (Horn) Born. She was a graduate of Dowagiac Central High School and attended college to become a teacher. She taught in Dowagiac for six years and in Dearborn Heights for 16 years. Wilma was united in marriage to William D. Flanigan on January 29, 1936 at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac. She was a parishioner at Holy Maternity of Mary and served on the Rosary Guild. She was a member of Retired Teachers of Cass County. Her loving family includes her daughter Mary Karen Haske of Dowagiac, one grandson David Haske and one granddaughter Kristin Haske, and two great grandsons. Wilma passed away on Saturday May 9, 2009 at West Wood of Niles Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her husband William, sister Marjorie Honeywell and brother Dick Born. Graveside services will be held on Monday May 11th at 10 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac, led by Father Leo Taubitz. McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home is serving the family.
