Lola Luella Dodson

Lola’s life began on May 14, 1941 in Chicago, the daughter of Edgar L. and Delma (Cousineau) Hauser. She was united in marriage to Rosier B. Dodson on September 17, 1960 in Chicago. Lola was a faithful parishioner of Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac, where she sang in the choir. She was also very active with the Dowagiac Citizen’s Police Academy. Her loving family includes her mother, children Alma (Steven) Carlsen of Dowagiac, Flora (Laura) Dodson of Cassopolis, Paul J. Dodson of Dowagiac, Ed (Katie) Dodson of South Bend, Dayle (Jenny) Dodson of Dowagiac, and Richard F. Dodson of Dowagiac, grandchildren Synnon (Michael ) Dunleavy, Steve (Jessica) Carlsen II, Brendan (Tara) Carlsen, Christopher (Jessica) Carlsen, Mathew Dodson, Tyler Dodson, Hannah Dodson, Harris Dodson, and Olyvia Dodson, great grandchildren Callie and Pace Carlsen, brothers Larry Hauser, Warren Hauser and Tom Brais, and sister Delma Smith. Lola passed away on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her father, her husband Rosier in 1983, a son Rosier Dodson, Jr, and a step daughter Louise Jones, sister Darlene Hauser and brothers Edgar Hauser, Jr. and Jerry Hauser. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church by Father Kevin Covert. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
