Doris June Krook

Doris’s life began on June 25, 1933 in Dike, IA, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Rasmussen) Sorensen. She was united in marriage to Arlen Krook on September 11, 1957 in Superior, WI, and the Krook’s enjoyed nearly 55 years of marriage together. Doris was the co-owner and bookkeeper for Krook Container Inc. and other family enterprises along with her husband. She loved to travel and spending winter’s with Arlen in Arizona. Doris cherished family functions and travelling to visit family in Minnesota. She was an avid reader and crafter. Doris’s loving family includes her husband Arlen of Dowagiac, children Kay (Doug) Reist of Laingsburg, MI, Joni (Kirk) Patzer of Dowagiac and Angie (Steve) Ernzen of Sister Lakes; grandchildren Darren (Stephanie) Reist, Stephanie (Bill) Nosis, Amy (Andy) Hackett, Eric (Sarah Edgerly) Patzer, Katie Ernzen and Matthew Ernzen; great grandchildren Kate and Andrew Nosis, a sister Joyce VanVreede and several nieces and nephews. Doris passed away on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at her home. She is preceded in death by a sister Betty Huffer and two brothers Charles and Melvin Sorensen. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. led by Larry Brewer. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Borgess Hospice.
