Ann Marie Evans

Ann's life began on October 10, 1928 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Ernie and Lida (Lyons) Murphy. She was a graduate of Dowagiac Central High School and attended two years of college. Ann was united in marriage to Darwin Evans on September 25, 1947 in Kalamazoo. She was a talented photographer and was award for her work from the Krasl Art Center. Ann also made pottery and loved creatively express herself through art. She also was involved in forensic photography for local law enforcement agencies. Ann and Darwin were both very active with the Sister Lakes Ambulance service and served their neighbors at EMT specialist for many years. Her loving family includes her husband Darwin of Sister Lakes, children Sandra Evans of Hartford, Cathy (Jirair) Barseghian of Pismo Beach, CA, Brad Evans of Sister Lakes, Lora Bandurski of Sister Lakes and Cynthia Hogue of Sister Lakes, eight grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Ann passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. She is preceded in death by a son in law George Hogue. Her family will meet friends on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor John Kasper.
