Sharyl Renee Chappell

Sharyl's life began on December 20, 1954 in Niles, the daughter of Jack and Connie (Johnson) Chappell. She was an avid reader, especially Stephen King novels, and loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sharyl was a member of the Cass County Post 1855 VFW and the Dowagiac Eagles. She was extremely patriotic and loved her country. Her loving family includes her children Melissa (Roger) Ross of Dowagiac, Joshua ( Stephanie) Bailey of Hammond, IN, Rebecca (Joseph) Swetay of Cassopolis, and Jessica (Jeremy Liggett) First of Niles, grandchildren Zachary, Ashley, Dillen, Jacob, Karissa, Seth, Gage and Haydyn, sisters Glenna (Kenneth) Westfall of Three Rivers, and Jackie (Ed) Goodman of Dowagiac. Sharyl passed away on Saturday September 11, 2010 at her home. She is preceded in death by a brother Bruce Chappell. Her family will gather with friends on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Yazel & Clark Chapel where her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Pastor Merrill Johnson. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
