Wanda's Obituary

Wanda “Liz” Gioannini, 57, of Coloma, MI passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at her home.  A Time of Sharing will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 5:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Those wishing to sign Wanda’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Wanda was born February 24, 1959 in Saginaw, MI to Eldwyn & Gwendolyn (Coleman) Claxton. She graduated from Hemlock High School and attended massage therapy school. Wanda served her country in the United States Army. On November 7, 1981, she married Kim Gioannini in Hemlock, MI.  Wanda worked for Benton Harbor Public Schools as a bus driver. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time at the pier on Lake Michigan, walking her dog, sewing, making blankets, and applesauce. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.  Wanda is survived by her husband Kim; daughter Gwenda (Eric) Shaw; son Anthony (Meg) Gioannini; grandchildren Titan Shaw, Ocean Shaw, Ava Gioannini, Falcon Shaw, Alex Gioannini, and Thomas Gioannini. Siblings Janice Thomas, and Duane Claxton; and dog Oliver.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Claxton.
