Edwin J. Diener

Edwin Jacob Diener, 86, of St. Joseph, MI passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Royalton Manor, St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Private services will be held. Edwin was born on February 9, 1930 in Flint, MI to the late Henry and Louise (Brick) Diener. He served his country while in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On February 27, 1954 he married Mary Louise Brown at Grace Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor, MI. Edwin was a carrier for the U.S. Post Office in St. Joseph for 33 years retiring in 1991. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid Detroit Lions fan, but most of all he dearly loved his family. Edwin is survived by his wife Mary; his two sons – William (Laurie) Diener of Baroda, MI and Andrew Diener of St. Joseph, MI; grandchildren – Wesley, Wendy and Andrew, Jr.; a great grandson – Robert; brothers – Sam Diener of Prescott, AZ and Tom Diener of Stevensville, MI; and a sister – Betty Saenz of South Bend, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers – Carl and John Diener and a sister – Ruth Hanson.
