Kevin Keith Hardke

Kevin Hardke, 65, of St. Joseph, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 26 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Father Jim Morris officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to Sarett Nature Center.  Those wishing to sign Kevin’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Kevin was born May 30, 1950 in Benton Harbor to Laurence and Adeline (Byers) Hardke. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1968.  Kevin married the former Lynn Kendzora on June 9, 1973 in St. Joseph.  He worked as a maintenance mechanic at the D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant.  He was a member of IBEW.  Kevin enjoyed going to estate sales, the Farmers Market and Antiques on the Bluff in St. Joseph.  He loved being with his grandchildren and his cat, Baby Ninja. He enjoyed riding his Harley.  His daughters will miss having breakfast with him every Sunday at 9:00 A.M. Kevin is survived by his wife Lynn; daughters Marie (Kelly) Richey of Kalamazoo, MI, and Emily (Brendan) Heenan of St. Joseph; grandchildren Alexander Richey and Phoebe Heenan; and a brother Jeff (Dianne) Hardke of Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents.
