Jeanette Kraklau, 80, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Golden Age Manor in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Scottdale United Methodist Church, 4271 Scottdale Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Terry Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Jeanette was born August 4, 1934 in Skene, Mississippi to Walter & Eunice (Eady) Powell. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1953. On July 7, 1953 she married Richard Kraklau in St. Joseph, MI. Jeanette worked for LECO Corporation for 24 years retiring in 1997. She also worked part-time for Sears and Walgreens. She was a member of the Red Hatters. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working around her home and yard and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Jeanette is survived by her son Rick Kraklau; grandchildren Ryan and Cory Kraklau; sister Peggy (Robert) Hubbard; and brother Hollis Powell. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and daughter Tammy Kraklau.
