Delores's Obituary

January  9, 2015 –  Delores J. Wade, 81, completed life in St Joseph and began Eternal Life in Heaven with Jesus Christ, family and friends. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, January 17, 10 am at Road to Life Church, 3800 Niles Road, St Joseph. Friends may visit with family from 5 – 7 pm Friday, January 16, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St Joseph. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Young Life of Southwest Michigan 2627 Niles Ave. St Joseph, Road to Life Church, Birthright 2700 Niles Ave St Joseph, and Hospice at Home 4025 Health Park Ln. St Joseph. Those wishing to sign Delores’ online memory book may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Delores was born Dec 28, 1933 in Roxana, IL to Cecil & Ruby Zumwalt. She graduated from Blackburn College and married Charles Wade on June 14, 1953 in Wood River, IL. During their marriage, Chuck built two houses and Delores made two homes. She was a devoted wife and mother, along with always taking time to help others. She made so many quilts for her children’s weddings, her grandchildren and many new babies of their friends. Delores volunteered at Mercy Hospital, Birthright and Young Life Committee. She also worked at Roberts Hair Fashions. Delores is survived by her husband, Charles; her sister, Donna Zumwalt; her children Kara (Mark) Weber of Gainesville, FL, David Wade of St Joseph, MI, Lyn (John) Guffey of Siloam Springs, AR, Kim (Keith) Tate of Corydon, IN, Jon (Wendy) Wade of Steamboat Springs, CO; her grandchildren Timothy Tate, Courtney Weber, Christopher Weber, Amy Tate, Michael Guffey, Alison Guffey, Alden Wade, and Neve Wade; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
