Daniel's Obituary
Daniel Richard Davis, 32, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in Chicago after a courageous fight against ongoing heart conditions.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 7, 2008, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Visitation with family will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Patrick Davis’ Education Fund. Daniel was born January 15, 1976, in St. Joseph to Terry & Debbie Davis. Born three months premature, he was a “fighter his entire life.” On September 20, 1996, he married Tawnya Manning. As a child, Daniel enjoyed spending time with his grandfather fishing at the family cabin. He also enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing at Magician Lake and mushroom hunting. Additionally, he loved playing pool. Daniel was known as a man who “could do anything.” He cherished spending time with his family and with his faithful K-9 companions, Bear & Buddy.
Daniel is survived by his wife Tawnya; sons, Patrick Daniel Davis, Justin Adam McNew, and Andrew Lee McNew; father, Terry Davis; sister, Amanda Davis (fiance Eric Rudell); step-grandmother, Betty Nernberg; aunts, Kathy (Dave) Sater of Stevensville and Rebecca (Dale) Vernon of Billings, MT; mother and father in-law, Penny & Kenny Wilson; sisters-in-law, Amber Manning and Andrea Manning, and brother-in-law, Shannon Smith; and by his “fishing buddies,” Jack Hill, Dave Sater, and Dave Kelm.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Debbie Davis and by his grandparents, Robert & Mary Ann Nernberg.
