Goldie Mae (Schrubba) Ferguson, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at South Pointe Assisted Living in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2005, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Alzheimer?s Disease Research. Goldie was born on October 12, 1911 in Pennsylvania to Walter and Emma (Smith) Heck. She married Gustave Schrubba on December 8, 1933 and he later preceded her in death on January 21, 1977. She then married James Ferguson on February 21, 1979 and he also preceded her in death on October 24, 1988. Goldie enjoyed long walks and embroidery.
She liked to embroider scarves for dressers.
Goldie is survived by her children- Shirlee (Boris) Paul of Show Low, Arizona, Elizabeth Groth of Stevensville, Janet (Lloyd) Wells Benton Harbor, and Sharon (Tim) Lucker of St. Joseph; one step-sister Rose Stubelt of Benton Harbor; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Gustave; second husband James; son Gus Schrubba in 1987; son in law Ken Groth in 1986; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
