Anita A. Schneider

Anita A. Schneider, 84, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI, on Saturday, October 8, 2005. Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI, is handling arrangements for the family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 11:00 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Paul A. Koehneke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or to the donor?s choice. Anita was born June 21, 1921, in St. Joseph, MI, to Adolph and Alma (Fiege) Hildebrand. On June 29, 1940, in Berrien Springs, MI, she married Ludwig ?Louie? Schneider ? he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1991. Anita was a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church. After retirement from Berrien Hills Country Club, she remained active in her church and the community. Anita is survived by her children, Verne (Donna) Schneider of Reston, VA, Janice (Tony) Oglietti of Summerville, SC, and Marilyn Hope of Bridgman, MI; eight grandchildren, Karen, David, Mark, Jon, Brandon, Nikole, Carol and Diane; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Hildebrand of Charlotte, MI, and Ernest (Delores) Hildebrand of Berrien Springs, MI; and three sisters, Ruth Hildebrand of Stone Mountain, GA, Loraine (Phil) Frobel of St. Joseph, MI, and Geri Fournier of Howell, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents-Adolph and Alma, her husband-Ludwig, her son-Norman, and two brothers-Leo and Walter.
