Jane C. Johnson

Jane C. Johnson, 66, of Benton Harbor, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Ct., St. Joseph with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church. On April 28, 1962 she married Richard S. Johnson in Baltimore. Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the St. Joseph Township Lions Club, and a former member of the Optimist Club & Lakeshore Jayshees. In her spare time, Jane enjoyed knitting. Jane is survived by her husband Richard; her son Steve Johnson of Charlotte, NC; her mother Dorothy Childs of Baltimore; her sister Dottie Childs of Baltimore; and her brother Thomas (Fern) Childs of Potomac Falls, VA. She was preceded in death by her father Lee Childs in 1991 and her twin sister Carol Largent in 1995.
