Harry's Obituary
Harry W. Blaisdell, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, 91, of Baroda, formerly of Stevensville, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd., Stevensville, with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Monday, August 15, 2005, at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home of Stevensville, Stevensville United Methodist Church, or 4-H of Berrien County Foundation. Harry was born to Otis and Blanche (La Seure) Blaisdell on July 1, 1914, in Two Harbors, MN. He married Frances Snyder on June 26, 1937, in Two Harbors, MN. He worked as a carpenter for Stevensville Lumber and later owned his own business. He was the president of Berrien County 4-H Leaders. Harry was a judge for fifty years at the Berrien County Youth Fair, for woodworking. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, teaching woodworking at 4-H, and he was a rock hound.
Harry is survived by his wife Frances; children- Katheryn (Gerald) Petzke of Baroda and Harriett (Gene) Collier of Stevensville; grandchildren- Cheryl Philyaw of Stevensville, Connie (Mark) Wade of Stevensville, Sandra (Matt) Allan of Portage, MI, Michael (Teresa) Petzke of Baroda, and Rob Collier of Stevensville; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-laws Hazel Blaisdell of Two Harbors, MN and Faye Bradburn of Hudson Lake, IN.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson Dustin Green; one sister; and three brothers.
