Mildred's Obituary

Mildred A. Sulcek, 90, of Springdale, Arkansas, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2005 at her daughter?s home while visiting for the holidays. Burial of her ashes will take place at a later date in Arkansas. Memorials may be made to The Church of Christ in Jenny Lind, Arkansas. Local arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Sulcek was born January 9, 1914 in Pear Creek, Arkansas to Frank & Eva (Molek) Bartolich. On April 21, 1940, she married her soul mate, Charles Sulcek in Chicago. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Together they traveled all across the United States and Europe visiting many places of interest. Mildred enjoyed polka dancing. Her family was very important to her. She and Charles spent every Christmas and New Years in St. Joseph with their daughter and family since they had moved away. Mildred had a way with words. She was very poetic without even trying to be. Mildred is survived by her husband Charles; her daughter Joann (Keene) Evans of St. Joseph; three grandchildren-Lenette Evans, Keene Evans, Keith Evans; two great-grandchildren-Rachael & Ryan Evans; and two sisters-Mary Bahorich of Baltimore, MD; and Katie Hoopengarner of Fort Smith, AK. Mildred was preceded in death by two brothers-John & Frank Bartolich; and a sister-Ruby Odesha.
