Alice Clear Stokes, 78, of Harbour Heights, Florida, formerly of the Twin Cities Area, passed away Saturday, May 08, 2004 at Jordan?s Nursing Home in Bridgman. Burial of ashes will take place in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Memorial donations may be made to Jordan?s Nursing Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, St. Joseph. Mrs. Stokes was born July 18, 1925 in Scottdale, Michigan to Clarence & Beatrice (Schmuck) Clear. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School Class of 1943. She was employed by The Enders Company in Benton Harbor, Carson Piere Scott, & Honey Bear Farms. Alice was a member of The Order of Eastern Star America Chapter #234-St. Joseph, Women of The Moose Chapter #1619-Port Charlotte, Florida, and the Lady Shriners in Fort Myers, Florida. Mrs. Stokes is survived by her daughter Arlene (Henry) Mak of St. Joseph; her granddaughter Christina (Tyson) Garrett; her great-grandson-Colt Garrett; her brother-James (Kate) Clear of Coloma; two sisters-Elaine Oldberg of Elmhurst, IL, Diane (Bob) Shea of Tarpon Springs, Florida and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Ted Stokes in 1999.
