Charles's Obituary

Charles Wesley Keeler, 71, of Stevensville, passed away on October 25, 2004, at his home in Stevensville.Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, October 29, 2004, at 11:00 A.M., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Terri Bently officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or Stevensville United Methodist Church. Charles was born to Carrol and Doris (Shideler) Keeler on November 23, 1932 in Berrien Springs. He graduated in 1952 from Berrien Springs High School. He then joined the Marines in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1955. Charles married Barbara Groh in Benton Harbor on December 10, 1955 and they were married for almost 49 years. Charles also worked as an electrician for Essex Wire in Berrien Springs for twenty years. Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara; children – John (Pat) Keeler of Kingston, NH, and Elizabeth ?Betsy? (Scott) Glenn of Stevensville; son-in-law Tom May of Eau Claire; sister Carol Sue (Robert) Phillips of Niles; grandchildren – Christina and Kyle Shaw, Jillian (Lars) Olson, Amanda Keeler, and Sarah May; and a great-grandchild Annalise Olson. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecca May on December 27, 2002.
