Adolf's Obituary
Adolf Joachim, 75, of St. Joseph, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 4, 2005, at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 3, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School or the Caring and Sharing Program (for shut-ins) at Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends are invited to send the family a condolence message or sign the guest book on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Adolf was born on October 17, 1929, to Ferdinand and Ida Joachim in Wolhynien. Adolf immigrated to the U.S. in 1951. He married Elvyra (Noll) Endriukaitis in 1982 in St. Joseph and she preceded him in death in 1991. Adolf worked for Pemco in Bridgman and retired from Bendix in St. Joseph. After retirement, he moved to the Whitcomb in St. Joseph where he enjoyed thirteen years of residence. He also enjoyed fishing and listening to German music. He was a member of the Kickers Club and one of the founding members of D.A.N.K. Additionally, Adolf was a Deacon and an Usher at Trinity Lutheran Church. Adolf is survived by his children Ingrid (Wes) Wiskow of St. Joseph and Gernot (Julie) Joachim of Houghton, MI; step-daughter Donna Endriukaitis of Kalamazoo; granddaughter Sally Joachim of Houghton; brother Ted (Lydia) Joachim of Bridgman; sisters- Relscha Mittelstaedt of Bridgman, Herta (Walter) Risch of Katlenburg, Germany, and Olga (Karl) Strohschein of Katlenburg; sister-in-law Irene Joachim of Katlenburg; and many nieces and nephews. Adolf was preceded in death by his parents; wife Elvyra; brother Heinrich Joachim; sister Lydia Keil; and brother-in-laws Heinrich Keil and Gerhard Mittelstaedt.
