Genevieve's Obituary

Stevensville – Genevieve (Jenny) Hosner, 78, of Stevensville, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2002 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Many people admired her for her courageous battle with cancer. Genevieve was born in Derby, Michigan on May 12, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Laura (Brenkert) Jonatzke. She married Marshall Hosner on September 11, 1948, and was a long-time resident of Stevensville. She began her career at ABCC in September 1957 and retired from ABCC/Whirlpool Acceptance Corporation in September 1986 after 29 ? years of service. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #568 and Women of the Moose #405. She is survived by one daughter Judith ?Judy? Link, Stevensville, MI; the grandson she raised, Gerald ?Jerry? Link and his loving wife Cindy, Stevensville, MI; one sister ? Ellen (Rodney) Lynch, Coloma, MI; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Her husband; her parents; and two brothers ? Clifford Jonatzke and Clyde Jonatzke, preceded her in death. Genevieve was better known as Jenny by family and friends. But, for the last three years, she was known as Grandma by customers at CJ Bert?s Breakfast Korner, Stevensville, MI where she spent her time keeping busy and visiting with people after the death of her husband. Even when she was no longer physically able to visit with customers, she still came in every day, until a week before her death, to be around her loving family. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, November 25, at the Starks-Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 26, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens in the Garden of Love.
