Delilah V. Rolland

Delilah V. Rolland, 83, of Benton Harbor, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lucinda Lane, Watervliet. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Liturgical Prayers recited at 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Rolland was born April 12, 1921 in Benton Harbor to Eli & Nellie (Addeman) Keller. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1939, and on February 26, 1940 married Elmer Rolland in South Bend, Indiana. Delilah was employed at Jewel Foods in Benton Harbor for seventeen years retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church for many years before joining St. Joseph Parish in Watervliet. Delilah was active in Riverside-Hagar #6 School activities while her children attended there. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, and crocheting. Mrs. Rolland is survived by two daughters-Kathleen (John) Walter of Benton Harbor, Sharon (Anthony) Tavolacci of Coloma; her son James Rolland of Hazel Park, MI; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren Her grand & great-grandchildren were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elmer on January 8, 1990; four brothers-Frederick, Thomas, Richard & Ivan Keller; and a sister Dorothy Rolland.
