Jack's Obituary
Jack W. Jones, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday,
March 5, 2003 at his home with family at his side. A
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M.
Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650
Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Military Rites will be conducted by the
Coloma American Legion Post #362, VFW Post #1137 of
Benton Harbor, & VFW Post #6803 of Watervliet. Cremation
will follow the service with burial of ashes at North Shore
Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores. Visitation is from 2-5 PM
Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to
Hospice at Home or the American Cancer Society. Those

Mr. Jones was born on July 26, 1926 in Ashtubula, Ohio. He
served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army during
WWII in which he received the Purple Heart. On February
25, 1966 he married Jessie (Peggy) Zaagman in Coloma. Jack
was employed by Benton Harbor Engineering & Advance
Products before Kelm Manufacturing where he worked for 18
years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the River
Bend Boat Club in South Haven since 1955; the Niles
American Legion #26; Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles-Aerie
#3531; Moose Lodge #449 of Buchanan, and Dancers for
Cancers Relay for Life Team Member. Jack loved country
music, line dancing, and listening to live music. He was an
avid boater and fisherman, and had built four homes during
his lifetime.
Jack is survived by his wife Jessie ?Peggy? Jones; four
children-Sandy Koern of St. Joseph; Russ (Kim) Jones of
Baroda; Jody (Scott) Liddick of St. Joseph; Wally (Robin)
Ishmael of Watervliet; six grandchildren-McKenzie & Mezei
Jones; Travis Archie; Aaron (Kerri) Archie; and Teran &
Aimee Ishmael. He was preceded in death by his
parents-John & Roma (McLaughlin) Jones, and a son-Gary A.
Jones on March 31, 2002.
