Susan Vincent

Susan Vincent, 87, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior on Monday, August 19, 2002 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Kent Meyer, Ph.D officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, St. Joseph or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory on line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Vincent was born on December 24, 1914 in Baroda, Michigan to Lee & Ruth (Ebert) Lemon. The Lemon families were one of the first to settle in Berrien County and were instrumental in helping others to move to Berrien County as well. Susan was employed as a cook at the former Ravines Foundation in Berrien Springs. Mrs. Vincent is survived by her daughter-Joan (Dale) Jasper of St. Joseph; four sons-George (Betty) Vincent of Lansing, MI; Robert Vincent of Berrien Springs; Kenneth (Marge) Vincent of Berrien Springs; Michael (Kathy) Vincent of St. Joseph; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers-Leonard (Elsie) Lemon of Baroda; Oliver (Mary Ann) Lemon of Buchanan; and a sister-Leona Nitz of Baroda. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
