Marilyn's Obituary

Marilyn Jane Owca, 46, of Benton Harbor, went to be with the Lord on Sunday December 30, 2001 after a brave struggle with Cancer. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, at the First Assembly of God, 3084 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God of which she was a member. Marilyn was born on September 4, 1955 in St. Joseph to James & Betty (Johnson) Dlouhy. She was a 1973 graduate of Lakeshore High School. On September 19, 1975 she married Joseph Owca in Benton Harbor. For the last 28 years she has been employed by Southwestern Michigan Planning Commission. Marilyn was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife & aunt. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 26 years-Joseph Owca; her parents James & Betty Dlouhy of Stevensville; three sisters-Barbara (Michael) Walsh of Bridgman, Carol (Jerry) Palmer of Sodus, Diana Dlouhy Romeo of Stevensville; two nieces-Kathleen Walsh & Natalie Romeo; a nephew-Trey Romeo and her Church Family at First Assembly of God.
