John was born March 27, 1932 at home in New Hamburg, MO, to John M. Kuss, Sr. and Frances Theresa (Einsell) Kuss. He married Ofilia ?Ofie? Abella in 1960, and after 43 years of dedicated loving marriage she survives him. Their marriage produced three loving children who forever will mourn his passing. He was an electrical engineer by trade and retired from Whirlpool Corp after 19 years of service. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He was a member of St. John?s & Bernard?s Parish, the Sigma XI Society, and the Stevensville American Legion Post 568. He was an avid bowler, master cabinet maker and woodworker. He will always be remembered for his conservative views, great sense of humor, and the need for mathematical exactness. John cherished life when its quality was befitting a human being and just barely tolerated medical science?s cures for his cancer. Finally, he will rest in eternal peace.
John is survived by his wife Ofie; his children – Mary (David) Griswold of Newaygo, MI, Jack (Joann) of Bridgman, MI, Maggie (Ray) Maguigad of Darien, IL; Two loving granddaughters – Leah Berean and Trisha Griswold; a brother Edward Kuss of Victoria, TX and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
