Mary J. Mellinger

Mary’s life began on December 25, 1955 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Homer and Norma (Hayden) Montgomery. She worked for many years at Burger King and as a school crossing guard in Dowagiac. She was united in marriage to John Mellinger on May 5, 2001 in Sister Lakes, who survives. She is also survived by sisters Maggie Bozman of Coloma, Elizabeth Montgomery of Dowagiac, and Carol Montgomery; brothers Robert and Richard Montgomery, both of Cassopolis, several nieces and nephews. She passed away on Saturday April 6th at her home. Her family will gather with friends on Friday May 3rd from 12 to 2 at Yazel & Clark Chapel with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the family.
