Esther Louise Schulz

Esther Schulz, 96, of St. Joseph, MI passed away at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Esther was born on Dec. 31, 1922 in St. Joseph, MI to the late Rudolph and Rose (Gast) Kelm. On May 19, 1944 she married Walter Schulz. Together they worked in construction until he passed away in 1980. Esther enjoyed reading and visiting with her great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Stevensville; a member of the church’s Ladies Aide; and a member of the Stevensville American Legion Auxiliary Post #568. Esther is survived by her daughter – Carol (Wendell) Arney of Berrien Springs, MI; grandchildren – Brian, Justin and Scott; great grandchildren – Kelsey, twins Meaghan and Kaleigh, Maggie and Kaitie. She is preceded in death by her son – Michael; sisters – Florine Mischke and Charlotte Hendrix and Olga Williamson, and a brother Herbert Kelm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 11:00am, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Stevensville, MI with Rev. Brett Ehlke officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 10:00-11:00am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls’ Ev.
